Cake Smashes are so fun because you get to see an adorable little tyke get all messy and sticky while their parents cheer them on. Their confused look, like, “you WANT me to get messy?!?” is hilarious, and they're usually a bit hesitant at first. But once they get a taste of their cake, they dive right in.
This mama wanted a Corduroy-themed cake smash (WITH OVERALLS! HOW ADORABLE!) and made the cake herself! She's a pro home baker, and her skills really show!
We chose Baylands Park, Sunnyvale for the location since it’s shaded and we can shoot there anytime during the day - perfect for working around the baby's nap time! The vibrant shaded grass lawn was the perfect backdrop with all the colors this mama planned for the Corduroy-themed photoshoot.
When we brought out the cake - say no more fam! - he was shy at first but then started smearing that frosting with his hands and loved the sensory play until he tasted the delicious cake and went all in from there! Such a cute cake smash!
