San Jose, Ca
VENUE:

THE COUPLE
We love when our longtime friends ask us to photograph their wedding! Not only is it fun to capture their special day but we’re able to catch up with the guests who attend.
We’ve known Leah for a LONG time and grew up in the homeschool realm together. She and her family were practically family to us growing up and our dads were best friends as well.
When Leah had reached out about wedding photography, we were excited to meet her fiancé for the first time! During their Carmel engagement session, we had so much fun getting to know Anthony who complements Leah in such a great way. They were made for each other, for sure.
THE PROPOSAL
Leah and Anthony had been to Hawaii for vacation when Anthony decided to take Leah out on a walk along the beach. Leah wasn’t feeling great and was in a grumpy mood so Anthony had his work cut out for him in popping the question. Suffice it to say, he accomplished his goal! They have a little two year old son with the curliest blonde hair. He is their whole world and they adore him.
THE WEDDING
The day began at the cutest AirBnB in San Jose. The outside looked unassuming but when we entered, we couldn’t stop ogling at all the awesome spots. We got the bride’s side of the bridal party, getting ready photos (such a fun crew) and headed up to the Boulder Ridge venue. It lives up to its name in providing a panoramic view of the Bay Area sitting atop the peak of the Almaden hills.
The breathtaking overlook was where the ceremony was held and it provided such a beautiful backdrop for the special moment of saying “I DO.”
When we were preparing for the First Look and looking for areas we could photograph that wouldn’t be in peak sunlight, one of us stood with Anthony while he was waiting. He told us the only thing he was nervous about was walking by himself down the aisle at the beginning of the ceremony. He was so excited and so sure about his union with Leah, that there were no concerns entering their marriage. He then proudly showed us photos of his son wearing a suit earlier that week and couldn’t stop sharing how excited he was to see him wear it in just a few hours.
After sharing a sweet moment during the First Look, we gathered the bridal party for their photos and gave Leah time to relax before the guests arrived. All of the nieces and nephews arrived in matching outfits in honor of their late grandpa and his Hawaiian heritage. There were sentimental touches throughout the day honoring Leah's dad, including a photo pendant of her as a little girl with him attached to her wedding bouquet.
The Ceremony was beautiful with the bride’s eldest brother officiating. He choked up during the ceremony when he said “This is my sister and it’s just getting real for me right now.” It was hard for us to not be emotional in knowing the patriarch wouldn’t be there but he was definitely there in spirit.
After Family Formals, we whisked Leah and Anthony away for their couple portraits on the golf course. We rode down the ridge in golf carts (talk about a fun ride!) to a part of the golf course with an amazing view and a section of water reflecting the clear sky. Leah was gorgeous in her tulle overskirt and her long flowing hair and Anthony looked dapper in his gray tie and black suit!
Reluctantly, we left the course back to the reception where the party really started! Anthony had told everyone that he was so excited for the food, and they had an amazing spread! Hilarious and heartfelt toasts were followed by table touches and greeting their guests.
Spending time with their family and friends was most important to Leah and Anthony, and foregoing all the traditional reception events, they just wanted to have fun with their guests. Leah and Anthony's son was on the dance floor the whole evening busting ALL THE MOVES dancing the night away!
All in all, it was a lovely day with a truly lovely couple!
Anthony and Leah – you both love your people and you radiate love for one another. We pray all the best moving forward in your forever story!
